Roadside Cleanup This Weekend

You have hopefully seen the publicity surrounding this weekend’s “Blue Hill Cares” roadside cleanup this weekend. While a few groups have already started their cleanup and others will do so “off-schedule,” the concerted effort to clean up the last year’s trash will be on Saturday, May 4.

If you’re able to participate, meet at the Blue Hill Consolidated School at 8am for a “quickie” organizational meeting for trash bag distribution, safety briefing and road segment assignments. Here’s a link to the Facebook event page.

Blue Hill Cares (and the cleanup) are sponsored by Blue Hill Community Development, so qualifying contributions for next year’s cleanup may be tax deductible for the donor. If you’re willing to contribute (beyond physically collecting trash), please contact Vaughn Leach to see what’s needed.

Bike / Pedestrian Plan (February 2019 Presentation)

At the February Main Street meeting, Bruce Stahnke gave a presentation on the work done over the last three years to develop a Town-wide plan for improving both bicycle and pedestrian access.

For those of you who missed the meeting, or those who attended and would like a copy, click the button below to download a (33MB!) PowerPoint file with his presentation.

The presentation outlines design ideas for Main Street, South Street and trails in the Blue Hill “village” area.

November Main Street Meeting Cancelled

The Organization Committee has decided to cancel the November group meeting (originally scheduled for November 19) to provide each of the committees with time to more fully develop the work plans for their priority projects and to identify what resources (volunteer or otherwise) they need to make progress. This will hopefully make for a more dynamic December meeting that will be a better use of everyone’s time.
