Word Awarded King Foundation Grant

Congratulations are in order for local literary festival “Word,” which has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Stephen & Tabitha King Foundation.

This generous grant, together with the many volunteers who helped to make it possible, will allow Word to approach the 2019 festival with funds in hand; this will simplify recruitment of speakers and provide for more efficient festival planning.

Word’s plan, thanks to the grant, is to use funds raised during the 2019 festival season to pre-fund its costs for the 2020 event, and to continue this practice going forward.

You can learn more about the October Word festival, as well as the Word team’s plans for pre-festival activities in and around Blue Hill, at the Word Festival website.

The Word Festival is a Blue Hill project sponsored by Blue Hill Community Development, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to building and nurturing a thriving local economy and an accessible community in the Town of Blue Hill.
