Our History

The Emanuel-Creek and the Scotland Conservation Districts merged in 1972 to form the present Bon Homme Conservation District. The District Office is located in Tyndall, South Dakota. Conservation Districts are sub-divisions of the state government. The local district is further supported by the South Dakota association of Conservation Districts and The National Association of Conservation Districts in Washington D.C. The district works closely with the Natural Resources Conservation Service and other agencies to improve and conserve our natural resources.
