On April 1993 the Bon Homme Conservation District received a Coordinated Soil and Water Conservation Grant to develop an Outdoor Classroom. The Classroom is a joint effort between the Bon Homme Conservation District, The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. It is located two miles east and one mile north of Tyndall. The Classroom consists of 18 acres of trees, 7 acres of grass plots, 5 acres of wildlife food plot, a 70 acre lake and 60 acres of native and intermediate grass, wetlands and farmed wetlands.

Students touring the outdoor classroom

Paths lead visitors around the different habitat components. Pamphlets are located on site describing the habitat areas in detail. Redwood signs identify the 24 tree and 12 grass species. The Classroom is open to the public. Tours are available upon request to The Bon Homme Conservation Office. Groups and Organization are encouraged to visit The Classroom.
