Ranchers gather as Les Labahn, Randall RC&D, Executive Director, explains what is to take place at the Cedar Control Field Day.

Over 100 people attended a Cedar Removal Field Day on the grassland of the Dennis Namminga Ranch south west of Avon . Landowners plagued with volunteer Cedar trees were able watch trees being sheared, sawed, cut and peeled into posts and made into lumber by nine different kinds of machines.

Sponsors were Randall RC&D, Bon Homme Conservation District and the Dennis Namminga Family. Technical support was provided by the Nebraska Forest Service, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, SD Dept of Ag.
