Ray Schmidt was named the Bon Homme County Conservation Farmer of the Year for 2003. Ray was selected for planting 13 acres of trees south of the Scotland City limits. Planting the area to trees was a result of his desire to attract pheasants and other song birds to the community while adding nature’s aesthetic beauty to the approach of Scotland.
